Hello, the program is really great but there is one thing I would truly appreciate. Is there any way you could add an option to choose output sound device? I need play sounds to a different sound output instead of deafult. Do I have any chance to convince you? ^^ maybe little donate for ya atleast ^^'

Hi, thanks for the feedback.

This feature has been suggested a couple times and I took a fair look at it and I still search for solution. What I can tell so far is that library that I currently use does not allow me to pick output device. I also took a look at a coule of other libraries that would allow me to change output device. Just one of them was convenient enough to implement but with it I noticed some popping and noice that other libraries did not have.
I really would like to implement this but I can not tell right now when or if even I will be able to do so.

Great program! It may be a dumb question but I cannot locate the .txt file needed for the Counter features. Please advise!

Thanks!

You have to create the text file/files and point both this program and your capture program to it.

Super great program so far. The only problem I'm haveing is that I have to alt-tab out of, say, DS3 for it to work. Is there a workaround for that?

Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback.
Running it as an administrator should do the trick.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I already tried that. Dark souls seems not to happy about it, I always have to AltTab to do it :/

That is weird... for me it works flawlessly in DS3 whether I run it as an administrator or not.
You could try to change input settings to Raw Input and restart the program, but I doubt that would help. I am sorry but other than that I don't know what could make it work.

No having the N vesrion does not mean you can't get it. It just means that it is not installed by default. You can right click the start menu, choose search and search for turning on or off windows features. There you should be able to find media features and by chcecking it it should install the wmplayer therefore making this app work.

Released new version with bunch of changes. Also Source code is now on GitHub.

Changelog:

Deathcounter & Soundboard v3.7
- refactored everything so any bug reports are welcome :)
- lots of UI changes
- app no longer uses keyboard hook, only raw input and that should correctly detect all numpad presses while holding shift
- removed changing color scheme and portable mode
- tables now show only name and count/keys (no file paths)
- file paths and key bindings are edited by doubleclicking
- added support for NAudio library that allows choosing output device for sounds
- added bindable keys for navigating to previous counter, pausing and continuing playback of sounds
- after key press the sound that is about to play is selected (highlighted) in table
- changed location of config file from C:/Users/[User]/Appdata/DeathCounter to C:/ProgramData/DeathCounter in order to persist settings using different users, old settings should be correctly loaded on first startup
