If I remember right from Coh's play through (I haven't played the DLC yet) this is the GUY if you know what I mean. I believe he asks Geralt if he remembers him. It seems like Geralt would have to remember him the whole way back to White Orchard. Sorry for maybe overdoing the vagueness but I'm trying to limit the spoilers as much as possible.

yeah it seems like he doesn't have a huge role in the main game, but the DLC he comes back and is a pretty major part. I just read a bit more about him on the wiki and he is pretty cool. Nice Find.

I actually restarted a game just to check if he was there at the beginning. Couldn't remember him at all lol
