Week In Review January 4 - 10

As the holidays come to an end and the new year kicks off, new releases are few and far between. For the first full week of January Cohh continued his conquest in “Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire.”

Just don’t call him a PoE streamer, yet. :cohhT:

While working through the 3 DLC’s, Cohh began to plan out his upcoming schedule that consists mostly of working on “The List.” Predictions continued to be a highlight of cozy streams with “Fall Guys” and even occasionally appearing in PoE. It looks like this will be a Twitch feature to stay.

With the weekend nearing, Cohh took a brief look at “Monster Hunter Rise” and had the inaugural launch of the “Cohhilition Book Club.”

Before we jump back into the world of Stardew or behind the controls of mechs, let’s take one look back. It’s time for your review.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire
Downloadable Adventures

As we entered the second week of POE II, Cohh spent the week diving into the three expansions to the base game.

Cohh worked his way through “Beast of Winter” and “Seeker, Slayer, Survivor” stating he enjoyed both while they offered completely different concepts. While the first continued as story driven content, the latter focused more on combat to challenge your party in various scenarios. :cohhCheer:

Many in chat stated the second DLC was the weakest of the three, but Cohh spoke on it favorably as he enjoyed the challenge.

Every so often he’ll put a game on hold with plans to return to it later. Cohh went this route putting a pause on “Forgotten Sanctum” almost halfway into the content with plans to dive into other games. He’s stated numerous times of his intent to finish the story but we’ll just have to wait and see when that is.

History proves it may be a while as there are many games that are stuck in limbo. Take a minute and at least one will cross your mind.

Monster Hunter Rise
Switching It Up
Friday saw Cohh checking out the newest game in the Monster Hunter franchise in a sponsored stream from Capcom.

During the three-hour segment mods Techlios, Doctor_Yiggles and Cervani teamed up with Cohh to take on the challenges. Cervani was running late leading to community member RagnarosSR to fill in until his arrival. :cohhWow:

Many in chat were commenting on the quality of the game on stream to which Cohh stated it looked great on the console. This all happened before he looked like a Chcobo carrying a hammer made of bananas.

Cohh stated that while he enjoyed the game, he would wait for it to come to PC. There were rumors and apparently a leak that claimed it would be ported eventually.

Cohhilition Book Club
Falling Into 2021

Over the past months there has been a surge of discussion of various books as Cohh found himself reading numerous titles. Based off these discussions, and suggestions from friends, Cohh came to learn about “The Stormlight Archive” by Brandon Sanderson. :cohhH:

Due to his enjoyment of these books, which included modeling some characters after Kaladin, he started to entertain the idea of doing a monthly show titled the Cohhilition Book Club.

The first episode occurred Saturday with djWHEAT and Steven Lumpkin taking part in discussion of “The Way of Kings,” the first book in the series.

The two-hour show had a few bumps as is expected as kinks get worked out. One notable example is the three wanted to make sure content was kept within the first entry. There are four books of the series so at times it proved difficult to avoid spoilers for people reading along with the community. :cohhWaii:

Ultimately this led to a decision to hold the second book club for a couple months to give everyone a chance to read through the other three books. Cohh tossed out doing a much longer show as well, which everyone agreed to. Both men agreed to be there for when it happened. Chat did as well. :cohhL:

If you missed the show, be warned there are spoilers mentioned. To see the first Cohhilition Book Club, make your way to YouTube.
