As most long-timers in the community know Cohh does not usually use mods in games that he plays. However, he will be using several in this playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins.

Please note: We are respecting the mod creators and their work and will not be providing a modpack.

Here is the list of mods and where to find them:

If you'd like to see how to install them watch Cohh do so here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... JReMK2O05W

If you're having trouble with installing try this: Install mod folders in Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age\Packages\Core\override. The dazip files need to be placed in (modmanager folder)\mods\Dazip.

Enjoy!

Which mods cause the Nightmare mode to be easier than expected?

Thanks.

Hi

I am missing something. Cohh has lovely prepared DAZIP and OVERRIDE folders. I have all the individual mods downloaded. One of them is a DAZIP file but not others. Some seem to have their own installer too. I am going to start going through the install for each mod but I wondered if people had more info.

Yeah, this is not easy at all to follow as Cohh already has already prepared override and dazip folders for him. I wish the mods would've included them in the post as well because it is terribly difficult to download and install mods for this game.

Hope this will help answer some questions:

-Some NOTES about the mods used by Cohh here for anyone who may want to use themselves.

-Improved Atmosphere mod(It's really a overhaul mod) do make the game easier, there is a solution, get the Flash Creature Rescale mod (has compat patch)
Caution about FCR: Makes game ALLOT! harder, easy mode is almost on par with nightmare mode. (read the install pdf)
I.E The city elf start is tough because you'll be fighting trained guards which FCR makes ALLOT harder!

-Quinn's Ultimate DAO Fix Pack makes large chunks of Improved Atmosphere redundant or incompatible. Follow the guide on Quinn's page about what parts of IA to keep.

-AutoLoot mod has been known to cause issues in SOME quests where it will auto loot a item but the game doesn't notice (thus quest not complete), Dain's Fixes mod does have a improved version which you can strip out since other parts of the mod are not compatible with Improved Atmosphere (unless you did the Quinn strip down of IA).

It's understandable why some people fear mods and will never use them (Cohh rarely uses mods for this reason).

PS. I use DAOModManagers Override Creator to make packages for each mod instead of raw dumping files in the override directory (if you do that use folders to organize mods). Override folder is sorted alphabetically, ie. files with same name in folder Z overrides those in A
