its legend of Zelda cus shes the one they care bout and its a legend she tells about how she got rescued im assuming but the hero IS link and hes the awesome guy and they always make link seem less important but hes the hero and awesome guy who owns the evil peoples :P

You can name your character whatever you like, and that is what people call you in the game. But in the storyline, you are Link.
