I really like the change of pace from true games to interacting with the community and allowing a way for everyone to be involved. Its also a good time to sit back and watch the fun.
what game is this about? just "mafia"?
Mafia, for all intents and purposes, is a game of lies and deceit. There are normally two sides- Mafia (the players who have to get the other members "Town" killed off), and Town (those who have to find and kill off all of the Mafia to end the game). The number of players in the game (not including the all omniscient Mod) determine the number of required Mafia and any and all roles (whether they be for Town, Mafia, or a Third Party) that will be in the game. Examples of roles are Vigilante (town sided role that has a one shot, time to be shot to be determined by Mod at set up of game), Cop (depending on type will determine how the role works. If Normal Cop, investigates one person during the night and get their alignment. If Parity Cop, needs to investigate two people (one each night), and will get whether they are the Same Alignment (either both town or both mafia- cop won't know), or of Different Alignments (one is town, one is Mafia). An example of a Third Party role would be an Arsonist (douse one person a night, with the right to light em up instead of dousing after night 0).

We used to play Mafia on a pretty regular basis. Spectrum (www.twitch.tv/spectrumdominus) runs a couple of Mafia games every couple of months. If you want to watch Mafia in action, there's a group on Twitch called Daily Mafia (www.twitch.tv/dailymafia) that play pretty much all day, but usually stream at night. They have an "All Stars" game or two Tuesday nights, and a Mentor game on Wednesdays. If someone puts it together, they can have a "Fun Game" where things become really interesting. Usually, they'll run Resistance (a smaller game where you have Resistance (town) versus Spies (Mafia), where instead of lynches (killing of people), people are sent on missions where you either pass or fail it). Daily Mafia start streaming around 9 pm Eastern, but will probably have a Resistance Zoom up earlier just not streamed.

This guy (https://www.youtube.com/user/tehslippery) has past DM games up on his youtube page. Feel free to go hand have a look. I warn you: there is much yelling, talking over people, and some BM. But they're all not like that, just need to find the diamonds amongst the glass.

I hope this helped some. If you have any other questions, feel free to send them to me!
