The news is a couple of days old now, but just in case it has slipped under the radar for some, Metro Exodus is jumping ship over to the Epic Store. It has been said, however, that:

1) All pre-existing Steam pre-orders will be honoured.
2) This will only be for a year before the game is returned to Steam.

More information on the switch and some of the fallout can be found here & here

Personally, I can see why Deep Silver/4A have made the call to move from Steam to Epic as, from a cost standpoint, they can save a fair amount of money which they are already passing back onto to consumer with a 10% discount on the game [on Epic]. Though, on the other hand, I also can't help but recall the saying, "video game publishers don't want to make money, they want to mack all the money," when I look at this story.

From the user standpoint, at least in my opinion, this also comes across as dubious as-as far as I know, Epic has no refunds policy in place, nor customer reviews (though one is supposedly in the works), limiting consumer protection and informality - something that should set alarm bells off for most people regardless if the game is projected to be a good/well-made game or not.
