Hello there!

Just gonna put down the list of my current build:

Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D Big Tower Black
GPU: ASUS GEFORCE GTX 670 2GB PCI-E DVI/HDMI/DP
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V Z77 S-1155 ATX IVY
cd/dvd-drive: SONY DVD±R/RW AD-7280S-0B 24X SATA BLACK
HDD: SEAGATE BARRACUDA 2TB 7200RPM SATA/600 64MB
SSD: SAMSUNG 830 SERIES 128GB SSD SATA/600 MLC
CPU: INTEL CORE I5 3570K 3.4GHZ 6MB S-1155 IVY
PSU: CORSAIR HX 650W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V
RAM: CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 VENGEANCE LP PC3-12800 1600MHZ CL9 (4X4GB)C
CPU-Cooler: Corsair H100i Hydro Series CPU Cooler

I bought my computer parts and built the computer myself in 2012 (which was my first time ever building a computer), and since then i've replaced the computer case (which made me take everything out and build it up again) and cpu cooler. BUT i think it's time for some upgrades. My graphics card is getting a little outdated i think, and when i replaced the computer chassis, something didnt really fit well together between the motherboard and the case. So the motherboard is kinda lifted up higher then the case is meant for (like there are some of the stuff on the backpanel on the motherboard (where u insert usb-cables n stuff) that are blocked by the case). So what i've been thinking most of replacing the motherboard (which might lead to a cpu change aswell) with an Asus x-99 deluxe, and get a gtx 970 or 980 gpu. But i want your opinion guys. any other stuff you would rather spend money on? open for any suggestions!

Thanks for any suggestions! GOOD SHOW!

Edit: My budget is not important, just lay down some stuff. It is mostly used for gaming.

if you're going the x99 route right now i would go for a 5820k and for gpu i would go for 1 or 2 980's otherwise i would wait and see what the r9 390x has to offer(late summer), what monitor do you use?

Ok, i dont necessarily want to go the x99 route, ive just heard its a good one. I use a benq as main monitor, and a phillips second. will the r9 390x cost more then 980s?

Few questions:
1. What monitor setup are you using.
2. How much are you wanting to spend? (x99 would require you to get a cpu, mobo, and ddr4 ram aka. a lot of $$$).

I personally would just go with a GPU upgrade then maybe a CPU upgrade to one with hyper-threading.

And your comment about the motherboard being lifted up by the inputs sounds scary. This should fit in snugly. I would check to see if you accidentally left a standoff in that shouldn't be there. This could cause the motherboard to short out.

1. my monitor setup is 1x BenQ 24" LED RL2450HT (DVI) and 1x Philips (hdmi)
2. Not more then 1500 bucks prolly.

Ye i dont like that it doesnt fit either.. I remember trying everything but nothing helped.

yeah mobo is short for motherboard how ever i wouldnt go for a 5930k, there is only one advantageover the 5820k and that is thatthat t it got more pcie and what those do is that they let you hook things up to ther motherboard. the 5820k has 28 and the 5930k has 40, for an example gpus need a minimum of 8 per gpu, pci ssds often take 2 or 4 same whith soundcards and im not sure but i think sata might steal one or two aswell. i would highly recommend a monitor upgrade atleast a 1080p 144hz or a 1440p

Ok so you would only upgrade the monitor if you were me? What monitor would you recommend?

Also Im guessing the 5820k is the cpu you are talking about. I've also heard that before what you're saying, that it's easy to buy more cpu then you need for gaming. And you finally made me understand why :) . Thanks for taking the time helping me everyone!

They are selling upgrade packs * that combines mobo, ram and the cpu

so they have one with MSI X99S gaming7 and the 5820K
one with MSI X99S SLIPLUS and the 5820K (cheapest)

and one Asus x99-Deluxe.

Are these go or no? if go, which one would you maybe recommend?

EDIT: *from my local store.
