Title explaining what i'm going for, I'm slightly stuck on what I'm looking for when building one. My budget is within $2800 scope, and prefer sticking to NVIDIA over AMD. Would like to use SSD's and don't know my way around Graphics Cards. Outside of that, I'm lost, any tips or suggestions are appreciated!

I would suggest using websites like PcPartPicker.com and PassMark.com One will make picking the right parts to ensure you don't buy something that won't work or fit. The other allows you see to compare power of a CPU, GPU etc.

With $2800, you should be able to build a beast of a rig.

that would be great! otherwise so far i'm just kinda tweaking around on the websites that wade_d_mcginnis suggested, so far it seems solid (i think?) but if you have input that'd be appreciated, that said, i don't need a tower, and maybe a motherboard? I already have a full size tower, and the motherboard is a ASUS X99-DELUXE II LGA 2011-V3 INTEL X99 SATA 6 Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard.

Sry for the full description of the motherboard, just had to XD

This is a suggestion go with an intel I7-770k LGA 1151
I would suggest getting a couple of SSD and an M2 drive.
Grab a 1080 GPU and DDR4.
Post what you got selected and we can help you out. I love builds.
Also OS decision do you have an EDU address?

to answer each line appropriately.
SSD's was something I already planned on, however i don't know what an M2 Drive is.
1080 GPU sounds like a solid pick, and DDR4?
and i don't know what an EDU address is.... XD\

oh, and now i have to both hug and hit my brother, he just gave me a gigabyte graphics card, however i don't know the model for it, as it's in a EVGA case.... oh the trolls.

M2 is a quicker hard drive, they go in your pci express slots, Cohh has it in his new build as well. I have one and it just makes things amazingly fast.
DDR4 is the Ram for the computer, I would see if the motherboard you pick accepts DDR4-2400 at least
EDU address is if you are going to school and have an email through them. You can get an OS really cheap and legal with one.

couple of things the xeon you picked is nice but really slow compared to anything on the i7 market right now. I would up the power on the power supply. I would also get rid of the sound card 2 reasons for this. One creative drivers are crap and full of bloatware and two most motherboards now and days come with 7.1 surround sound built in. Wouldn't select memory until you have the motherboard. Memory selection comes after you pick your cpu and motherboard. I would hit newegg to search what you want then find it on pcparts picker for pricing. Also the cooler is just a piece of what you need for liquid cooling. You would need to buy a pump a tank and connectors to get that cooler to work.

Just curious, why the MSI Z270 gaming M7 and not the MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon?

The ease in overclocking is why I picked it but either or. The pro carbon is cheaper to go with and you will get just as good power.

I would go with a Samsung SSD over an Intel, other then that I would say your build will be nice. If you dont do networking or lans Windows 10 home should be fine for you. Dont forget a case if you don't have one.

i'll look into a Samsung, see if they're more efficient over the Intel one i selected. That said, the budget shifted recently due to a family member needing money to fix their car (they say they'll pay me back, but that may take awhile), so $2100 is now the budget... sadly...

yea had to check the motherboard you picked does allow for the m2 SSD, so yea that would boost speed and reliability for your hard drive.
