So I'm not a "noob" when it comes to computers and hardware but I haven't really kept track of new stuff over the past 2-3 years.

The question is not "Should upgrade or not"? it's about "What will I gain by upgrading"?

Rig:
i7 3770K (Ivy bridge)
Corsair Dominator 32GB
Asus P8Z77-V LE Plus Intel Z77
2 x 980Ti
1 x 500GB SSD
1 x 240GB SSD
2 x 2TB WD Blacks
2 x 4K Monitors

I don't think you would see amazing results upgrading, swapping to a 1080ti may net 10-15 fps in some games. (at 4k)

But id wait to see what Intel does with new CPU's, AMD probably shocked them with how close the rayzen's are and there price.

Intel is sure to hit back.

As it stands your rig is capable of playing anything with great FPS, id wait another year (ish)

Overclock your 3770k if you haven't already

hope that helps a little :)

Exactly what I thought, I'm no where near upgrading GFX cards yet, unless I can maybe 250 for each of the cards then 1080Ti may be an option.

I was mainly thinking along the CPU lines but if there has been no real leap then not that bothered.

Thanks BTW

4K monitors? Upgrade your 980Ti to a 1080Ti and get half decent (60fps) results in most games. The rest I don't see much reason to upgrade.

I think for additional upgrades you would need to change your mainboard.
