Im sorry, just saw the sticky about building guidelines,
My budget is $3000-$3500
I live in Canada
I do need a monitor- 1 for now is fine, will add 1-2 more a little later
1080P is fine for me 144HZ
i also keyboard,headset and speakers
This PC is only for Gaming .

Hello, and GOOD VIBES to all.
So, a little history. I started as a console guy, first playstation then jumped to xbox. Got a job that made me leave for days to weeks at a time. Got really tired of packing/unpacking etc etc. So I bought a "Gaming" laptop. I know i know, most PC gamers are not big fans of PC laptop gamers, anyways, I paid alot of money for this thing, which im still using at this exact moment.

Im sorry, I have had a few beers, Its cohh's fault. Darn DOS 2 drinking game. ( my rules may have slighty differed from Cohh's)
Ok, I would love some feedback on this build, I know next to nothing about buiding a PC. What should I change? What should i maybe keep. I also am aware that the 8th Gen CPU's are coming out next month. I live in canada as well.

The CPU i had was a 7700K, but I found a 7740X for $20 more.

GRAND TOTAL $2940

Just a quick thing I noticed - you don't have any thermal paste listed.
Also how important is it for you to have a M.2 SSD? Since that takes up quite a bit of your budget.

Here a better overview, I changed the CPU because the socket of the motherboard(LGA 1151) doesn't support that of the i7-7740X(LGA 2066).
650W should be more than enough for the PSU. Couldn't find the case you found on the site.
You should look for an 2400mHz RAM because the CPU only supports up to 2400Mhz.
Are you going to overclock?

Oh, forgot about the paste. And I really only want a SSD for the OS. So I could change that to something a lot cheaper.

Don't really have plans to overclock. But I would like the option if I decided to try. But not a big deal.

$3k seems like one hell of a budget. I figure I'm in the minority of ppl with gaming pcs, but I run an i5 build with a Ti650 and it runs anything on high, and most games on max settings. Probably cost me $1200 if you consider everything I carried over from old builds.

If you're bound and determined to spend the $3k go for it, but If you pick and choose parts on sale on Newegg, and check tigerdirect and amazon for deals as well you should still be able to build a nice i7 1080 build for $1000 under your range.

Single 1080ti is the way to go.

I also think you should take a look at samsung evo 850's, and it'd save you well over $500. Going back a generation in any given part can save a ton of money while only dropping performance slightly. Just search google for benchmarks - lots of good forums and good graphs/charts available on many different parts.
