Looking for build suggestions for new pc

Hi you lovely tech-savy cohhilition members :cohhL:

My pc is starting to reach that age where replacing individual parts is becoming a little too frequent and a little to unimpactful. So I'm looking to build a new one from scratch within a couple months (maybe if I can find some sweet deals on black friday)

I have a great monitor, keyboard and mouse, so it's only the computer itself that needs rebuilding.

My budget is probably gonna be around 2k euro at most.

At 2k, I'm obviously not looking for a 2080Ti build or anything that top-shelf. But I would like something that'll last me for the coming years at high specs and quick load times.
Since I'm keeping my old rig as a backup / guest rig (or if I against all conceivable odds I one day find a girlfriend who's into gaming), the build needs to include a cabinet as well as the hardware.

Since the actual purchase is still some time off, there's no rush of any kind for replies.

Looking forward to seeing your suggestions :cohhGG:

you can get pretty close with 2k.

something like this perhaps, 8600k + rtx 2080 for $1900
its about $500 more for a 2080ti so if you get some good deals / make some minor changes you could keep it close to 2k

That's a pretty sweet looking build. Unfortunately it's a bit out of my pricerange due to electronics being pricier in Denmark. Same parts bought here would cost me roughly 2500$ but a lot of that is the video card, so I could either downgrade that slightly or wait a while longer before buying :cohhHmm:

You could change from a 2080 to a 1080ti. The performance is almost equal, but you'll lose dlss. Depending on the prices in Denmark maybe this will save you enough to fit you're budget.

How does the 1080ti compare to the 2080ti in terms of longevity? I'm hoping to build something that'll last me a good couple years on the high end, so if 1080ti is something that's likely to become mid-tier within a year or 2, I'd almost rather wait and save up a bit more for the full build you posted :cohhHmm:

Newer is *always* better..
But it kind of depends on your monitor. If you're playing at 1080p the 1080ti will hold for some years. Should be ok for 1440p, and maybe 4k (40-60fps) depending on games.

I suggest you take a look at some benchmark graphs so you can see the performance difference.

I legit don't remember what my monitor is capable of :cohhHmm:

But does that mean a 2080 only makes sense with a 4k monitor?
