I am impressed by how well it works for Cohh, and am looking to set up something similar for myself.

Did Cohh ever explain on what hard- and software he uses (and what configs and gotchas there are to consider)? If not, do any of you know of similar resources for something like this? Looking for guides, tutorials, experiences so I can learn and avoid making (possibly costly) and unnecessary mistakes?

All I could gather after a bunch of googling and searching here/reddit/vods is that Cohh does seem to use some tools and carefully adjusted levels for the speakers as well as filtering for the microphone.

I can't say what he uses hardware or software wise. But one thing he always says when asked is that his microphone and speakers are not on the same surface.
Speakers on the table and I think I heard him talk about a mic stand in a highlight. So that would be on the floor, more than likely.

Shock mounts and pop filters I would assume on the mic. If he doesn't have a subwoofer with his speaker setup that would further benefit the mic stand.
He may use RTX Voice since he has a high end graphics card. I believe you can use RTX voice now, even if you only have a gtx card. If you don't have that an alternative is Krisp.
Or you can do your own research if you don't like that option. There are just a lot of alternatives to rtx voice out there.

I am sure also passing the sound through a mixing board helps as well. Something like go xlr, I don't know what Cohh uses for that.

Mic choice is also a benefit, cardioid, supercardioid and hypercardioid mic makes it so only what is in front gets picked up. Sound proofing in the room also prevents his voice from echoing back to the mic. I would start with a directional mic on a floor stand and bookshelf type speakers on your desk. Or Have the speakers on stand and the mic either clamped to the desk or on its own stand.

This is definitely an issue, esp since I have a (small) 5.1 setup for my pc, and I hate wearing headphones.

Short of using audio magic, it seems like the best way to get good quality voice in a speaker environment is to use professional lavalier mics, like those used on stages. I believe burkeblack uses when he does vr.
