Civ 5 Vanilla Session

Hello

Me and offline chat wants to play Civ 5 but since not everyone got the 2 expansion we thought of starting of with Vanilla

This thread will be used for planning of setting up said session (dates and stuff)

If you interested of joining you may also post in this thread

Alright the first subject of discussion should be rules (Picked/Random Civs, Map Size etc)

Second subject should be time and date (When do we play and how long will each session be)

Thirds subject is who can host said session

I would prefer RandomCivs and an appropriate MapSize depending on the amount of players, basicly nothing too big so we won't be stuck in the same game for ages^^

maybe 2h or 3h sessions? occasionally longer if everybody can afford the time

I like my big maps tho, less fighting over territory earlygame (more peace of mind for me ${L_SMILIES_RAZZ}$ )
As for picks i second Captain in that RandomCivs is more fun.
Lastly time, for me weekends anytime is good but weekdays only after 6PM CET.

Just saying if we get 6 players we don't need a map set to 'huge' ${L_SMILIES_VERY_HAPPY}$ just one setting for 'max player' over the actual amount of players would suffice in that regard.

Also another suggestion:
Have any of you looked into the 'pitboss' game mode? It was patched into the game after BNW but is available for all players.

I will get on a Google Doc later today for us all to look at rules, map sizes etc.. I will look further into the pitboss game mode. Depends though, as that won't be as fun as real time multiplayer action imo.

I've never actually played Civ V multiplayer. I'm intrigued, but will probably be early fodder, but hey why not.

I'm interested. Although I would be the one to get rekt first because I suck at these games :p

But yeah, personally I think late afternoon would be ideal as it would fit most people with work/stuff doing under the days. As I am one of those.

I might have to clarify that any time past 4-5pm works perfectly fine for me. All day under weekends but stuff might come in the way as per usual with life
