Hello Cohhilition,

with Witcher 3 comming out in couple of months I decided to play through previous Witcher games. To make them look better I installed some graphic mods and will list them here with guide on how to install them.
Feel free to post any mods and suggestions.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition

List of mods:

- ReShade with SweetFX
- Ambient Occulsion
- High resolution textures (Texturen Mod)

ReShade with SweetFX

Mod download
Preset

Extract the downloaded file. Run 'ReShade Setup.exe'. Press Select Game and locate the Witcher.exe file (C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System\Witcher.exe), select it and then you can close the program.
In \The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System\SweetFX\ReShade_settings.txt change the ReShade_ShowStatistics to 0 (this is overlay in the game displaying FPS etc.).
Advanced settings are located in \The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System\SweetFX\SweetFX_settings.txt I recommend using linked preset. Just replace this file with the preset.

Ambient Occulsion

Download for NVIDIA Inspector

Extract the downloaded file and run the Inspector. Press the settings button on the right (crossed wrench and screwdriver). In the field on top find The Witcher and use these settings:


After changing the settings click Apply changes in the top right corner and exit the application.

High resolution textures (Texturen Mod)

Download

Extract the downloaded file and run it. Unfortunately this installation is in German, but you just have to click next until you are asked to enter the witcher directory location. It automatically adds The Witcher directory to the path, but it is possible you will have it in The Witcher Enhanced Edition instead. Finish the installation by clicking next.

Hi-Res Character Models

Download

Extract the downloaded file. Files in Characters folder copy to \The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data\Override\ and let it overwrite the original files.

Perfect Blood

Download

Extract the downloaded file. Put the whole Perfect Blood directory into \The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data\Override\

Perfect Rain

Download

Extract the downloaded file. Put the whole Perfect Rain directory into \The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data\Override\

Better Texture Environment and Weapons

Download

Download both Better Texture Environment and High Texture Weapons. Extract downloaded files. Copy the CookedPC directories from both mods to the game folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\the witcher 2\) .

• While playing I noticed that the Yrden sign is totally messed up (big flashing squares) so if you have the same problem just remove this file \the witcher 2\CookedPC\items\geralt\geralt_signs\yrdentrap.w2ent
• Another bug that I have found was that near water/glow I could see shadows of gloves, sword sheath and some ohter stuff in weird places. To get rid of that I removed this directory \the witcher 2\CookedPC\items\work\remains_human_01
• Also the poker looks pretty terrible so if you don't like it, remove these folders:
  \the witcher 2\CookedPC\environment_levels\mini_games
  \the witcher 2\CookedPC\environment_levels\decorations\dices\

Extreme Quality Flora v1 & Beard mod for Geralt

For installing these mods I used the Nexus Mod Manager.

Install the NMM and run it, it wil start searching for games. You can stop the search after it finds The Witcher 2. Click the green tick next to the games that it found, click OK and select The Witcher 2.

Go to mods websites and click the DOWNLOAD(NMM) button and let it open the Nexus Mod Manager. Wait till the downloading is finished. Open the Texture Replacement and Unassigned folders and select both of the mods and then click the 'Activates the selected mods' button in the left toolbar.

The Witcher 2 Tweaker

Download

This program allows you to set some options beyond what you can set in game options. Extract the downloaded file and run the The Witcher 2 Tweaker.exe . In the bottom left press the Ultra button and then click Yes. You can also tweak these settings yourself, for example turn off the VSync. After you're done press Accept Changes and close the program.
