Hey guys,
Please read the entire post before entering
I want to thank not only Cohh, but everyone in the community, especially the mods! The Cohhilition is my home away from home for a gaming community. I don't game as much as I used too but I like to frequent the channel and i truly enjoy the community and the atmosphere the Cohhilition. For that this is my way of giving back to the community, even if its small
For people interested interest in game development (hobby, professional development, self-fulfillment, etc...), when getting started, number one advice I give is to "just do it". Don't worry about which engine is "the best", what programming language is best. I don't want this giveaway to become is unity vs unreal engine vs cry engine. Every engine has its pro's and con's. If you don't like unreal go try out unity
, but for those who would like to try out unreal
I am a moderator / contributor to Unreal Engine. Because of this Epic Games has graced some of their community contributors with some keys to 1 month of subscription of their Unreal Engine 4. I have given out a few on stream but I thought i should post here for those that are seriously interested aswell. I have about 15 keys left (with more available if people are interested)
I am no way affiliated with Epic, but I know bunch of users in our community would be interested in learning more, getting started in a hobby or a lifestyle.
A few points about Unreal Engine:
Note: Unreal Engine is free for education! Epic Game has partnership with Github, If you have a ".edu" email you can get a 1 year subscription for free anyway! (don't even need the key!). Please visit https://education.github.com/pack and you won't even need a key
Quick points in what do you get:
For full info go to https://www.unrealengine.com/faq , but i'll try to cover/highlight big points
1. You get 1 month of subscription free
2. When you have a subscription you have access to the latest version of Unreal Engine 4 (source code and all platforms). You have full access to this version forever, even if your subscription ends! . Only time you need re-subscribe is if you want updates / new versions of UE4 that came out after your subscription ends.
3. If you decide to sell a product/game that uses Unreal Engine 4, only thing you pay is royalty based on how much you get and that's it! Please read below
FAQ
What's this about royalty?
Only if you sell a product/game you are obligated to pay royality. The first $3,000 quarterly requires no royalty. After you the make first $3,000 (gross revenue), It is 5% royalty. See Epic's FAQ https://www.unrealengine.com/faq
When do you not pay royalty?
Everything else is royalty free forever. Examples include education projects, architectural visualizations, movies (think red vs blue), personal use/projects, consulting/ contract work, and "truly" free games (no IAP). See Epic's FAQ https://www.unrealengine.com/faq
How do I GET A KEY!?
Only thing i ask is that people who enter are people really interested in development (personal use / hobbies are fine! ) I just want the subscription to be used
1. Reply to this post with a picture of a cute animal (can be from anywhere), and then show off your MS paint by showing off funny game related moments.
