The Cohhilition

Today during his stream Cohh talked about needing a different way to collect donations. I would like to start a thread of ideas. My hope for this is that if Cohh need suggestions he can look here, if not then i hope that new streamers can get some ideas. I also hope that this can be a good discussion from the view point of stream watchers (like my self) and content producers (like Cohh).

One suggestion was doing what JP does, he only allows for donations above $6, other wise people should keep their money or sub to the channel. While i like this idea no everyone has the ability to sub and would rather just give a few dollars.

I think one major issue that Cohh brought up is that people are using the donations as a way to talk directly with him (or other content producers). I feel torn on this. While i have never donated to the stream and have only subbed, i can understand why people would want the 1 on 1 directly with the streamer. With that said, do i need to be in on that conversation? probably not.

With that said i believe that there should be a way to directly talk with Cohh with out having to hope he reads the chat (which has been getting crazy busy). While making a Q&A board would be great for general questions, it wouldn't help with things that a streamer needs at that moment (game hints, or general information specific to that streamer).

I don't have the answers so i am hoping to start a discussion with the rest of my fellow cohhalition peeps. Take care.

While i get the point and do understand the ethical problems that arise if people pay to talk to Cohh, i am of the opinion that raising the minimum donation wouldn't be a good solution.
By raising the min donation you won't solve the problem but just shift the focus of the problem.

Say for example you change the min donation to $6 the effect will be that the people with enough money to spend will still "abuse" the system and making the less fortunate feel left out because they have no way of being treated equally without potentially breaking their own bank.
Now i do agree that people should use their brains and don't break their bankroll but the general vibe in The Cohhilition is that every single person is treated equally, and i feel like changing it this way would create a diversity.

So my "solution" would be simple:
Just let it happen, and when it's observed that someone is frequently "abusing" the system just give them a friendly reminder and/or warning that it's not the use for Donations.
Whatever way you put it, the people are still supporting the community even though it's just small amounts.

Besides that, i don't think it has gotten to the point where it's ridiculous and/or annoying at all, i must say i sometimes even enjoy the fact that people are willing to donate some money to the community to get a "urgent" message over to Cohh, be it Gameplay or Stream related. Could always see it as a double support if not only the donation, but also the message helps the stream/community.

Just my 2 cents, i would donate them but the min donation is $1 cohhK.
