Dota 2 International: Day 2 Highlights

Here are the three most significant matches from yesterday's play at the Dota 2 International.
Game one of day two was a mouthwatering encounter between the undefeated Alliance and LGD China (who went unbeaten until the semi final last year). The team picks were interesting, Alliance banking on a Phantom Lancer while LGDcn went with an Alchemist for their hard carry. Initially Alliance looked better, picking up a few early kills thanks to a hatful of assists from S4 (Clockwerk).
From there the midgame was a cagey affair – Alliance staying ahead in kills and gold – and the passing time suited Sylar’s Alchemist, who was able to farm up to a pretty frightening level. LGDcn eventually grabbed a teamfight win on the top lane, immediately swinging across to the Roshan pit with malicious intent. It looked like they had him sewn up, but a clutch Blinding Light from Akke blasted Sylar out of the pit and immobilised him in the shrubbery above. In the ensuing chaos, LGDcn were hurt by the Alchemist’s absence, and although Yao did rescue him with some quick thinking, the damage was done, LGDcn’s momentum slowed, and Alliance tightened the screw.
