Misfortune Approaches

Hey all, I'm Maven. Poor, so no subscriptions anytime soon, but I definitely plan on sticking around. Cohh's got good taste in games and a good head on his shoulders, and everyone in the community seems friendly enough! Been a long time since I've done forums, but hey, no time like the present?

I have a ton of hobbies, so I'll only list the major ones. I'm a huge board gamer, and I adore co-op and/or team-based video games. I also love Skyping or Mumbling with people while we all run the same single-player game. Did it recently for Fallout: New Vegas, in fact! I'm a really avid role-player and fiction writer, especially with regards to pen-and-paper games. Also, I enjoy discussing and being a critic for music, characters, and world-building. (That means positive critique, not tearing people to shreds.)

Finishing up my Master's degree, so might have spotty activity. Also, I have shitty luck, so prepare for misfortune!

Hey Maven! Welcome to the Cohhilition!

Using Skype or some other VOIP while running single-player games with friends is the best. You get the best of both worlds. What are you getting your Masters degree in?

Anthropology with a certificate in Museum Training. Hoping to work in one of the many museums in the area, but have backup plans at some local NPOs. I've had a long career in academia and private research, so I'm hoping to take a step back from that for a while.

Cool! Working at a Museum would be awesome, being around all that history everyday.

Welcome to the Cohhilition. Don't worry about not being a sub, just showing up and watching is enough for Cohh. Good luck with the masters. Will a phd follow?

Maybe much latter, but I desperately need a break from academia.
