Undertale Discussion (Try to keep spoiler free)

Noticed not a lot of the Cohhilition has been talking about Undertale. Maybe it's not the type of game that y'all usually look at, but I wanted to have a topic here to at least discuss it.

I played it as my first full playthrough for my YouTube channel, but I was astounded at how good it was. I ended up binging on it for eight or nine hours in a row. There are a few artistic inconsistencies, partly due to the number of guest artists and designers, but they don't really feel that out of place and only make the world seem more diverse. Plus, it's a shockingly inclusive game. Gender neutral protagonist, wide array of character types with strong personalities, etc.

And, of course, the character design, dialogue, music, and gameplay are all excellent. With shockingly high amounts of replayability for a plot-focused JRPG-style game, too.

Anyone else played it or is interested in it? Try to keep discussion as spoiler-free as possible for those who haven't played before. Toby Fox, the game's creator, would like as many people as possible to go into the game as blind as possible.

Hey! New to the site, and really participating in forums in general. But yeah I've played it through multiple times. I love the different endings depending on which way you decide to play, and I can't wait for Toby to add in a permanent hard mode especially since I've heard rumors of new monsters and maybe an extra boss.

I'm pretty sure hard mode is just a joke. The hard mode that's currently in the game clearly shows how it's not actually that hard, especially if you're not playing a pure pacifist playstyle. And given how it ends, I'm under the impression that it was put in the game as yet another thing that makes fun of/subverts the traditional RPGer mindset and trained reactions.

Hmm I guess, I found the hard mode quite difficult even to the point of restarting the current save with a new name. I do hope they add in a full hard mode and not just a "demo", possibly to get more lore and background on the monster/human war.

I loved the neutral and pacifist ending but I'm finding the genocide run to be pretty difficult.

That comedian was too easy, I require a hard mode. I first went through the Pacifist/True Pacifist, since the steam page said that no one has to be killed, then I went through the Genocide, skipped neutral since I didn't find the idea of it too interesting. Sorry for bumping and coming to the thread late. Haven't really been on the Cohhilition forums.
