I tend to really like Blizzard games and am a primary console peasant. I wanted a little more mobility with the baby around and these are the four names I've noticed other than Cyberpower and iBuypower.

I would be looking to spend around 1200 to 1500 but was just wondering what your opinions are on laptop brands targeting the gaming niche. I've read a few ROG machines have the ability to change in an out parts which would be lovely to upgrade in the future but I am not sure if that's how they all are.

So do y'all have any big statements, tips or qualms with any brands? I'm on the fence about almost anything, even size between 15" and 17"

I am so sorry this is vague, I just enjoy reading discussions and I know this community is very educated on PC parts/ builds.

Picked up the MSI laptop above for ~$1650 not too long ago from newegg.com after months of being indecisive. I rebuilt the RAID0 to RAID5; I prefer the redundancy over straight speed. My first advice is to spend a few days seriously shopping around.

Any proper gaming focused laptop comes with a few drawbacks that consoles/desktops do not deal with in the same manner; power consumption/battery life (although my new MSI does a decent job of letting me manage power/consumption, along with the standard power management options, i.e. processor throttling and such), heat generation, etc. Do your research, find something that fits your needs. I will note here that ANY laptop will have ways to swap out parts, aside from CPU/GPU as they're soldered in on a good number of models. RAM and drives are typically easily replaced.

Aside from my personal experience with this particular MSI model and an older ASUS, I can't offer much more user insight on laptop brands. I've built my own desktops for two decades, but have never really bothered with laptops. I've recently heard great things about Sager, however, perhaps something to add to your research queue.

I have no qualms with anything you listed. Would just suggest you stay away from the obvious pitfalls, like Alienware, or Mac for gaming. Any properly matched hardware will match either for 75% of the price.

Final note: Blizzard games aren't terribly intensive, you shouldn't need an 980M or anything silly like that.
