I forget his name. Fell into his stream by accident. His theme is like Hobbit-y and he welcomes his new subs to the Shire. He's very good and was doing a practice run when I was watching it. Baffled me honestly. I take a hit probably every 5 mins haha

I'm not sure what the stated rule is about links to streamers, so forgive me if I break a rule;

http://www.twitch.tv/the_happy_hobbit

The dude streams every night from 6pm EST, and yes, he did manage to beat the game without taking any damage from enemies. He used Red TearStone Ring and set up it's functionality with environmental damage, such as fall-damage, self-inflicted poison, the avarice helmet, etc. He did this on Saint Valentines day ( stream VOD of the world record here ; http://www.twitch.tv/the_happy_hobbit/v/45916941 ).

He spent months grinding this, and restarted *every time* he got hit from an enemy in any way, or set off a trap. His run included Master Key gift, running instantly to take humanities in Firelink Shrine, running to get Grass Crest Shield and kill the Black Knight guarding it, and most often restart the game right then and there if the knight didnt drop Black Knight Halberd (this was the reason he got the humanities, with up to 10 humanities consumed Item Discovery is raised).
He then set out to get Red Tear Stone Ring in Valley of Drakes, just to have extra damage to kill enemies when he was low on hp himself - this damage he set up with fall damage, poison in blighttown swamp, etc, since if he got hit even once anyway he was gonna start all over. When that is the case, when you're on a "one-hit-kill"-run, it doesnt really matter how little health he has. Only reason he kept swigging that Estus Flask from time to time was to have health to cover environmental damages, to survive falls, etc.

I read somewhere that people think he save-scummed. He did not. He "save-scummed" during practice, where he loaded a game to practice a boss, and beat or beaten he reloaded instantly to a savefile he had from just before the boss. When he went on to *actually* do the run, he *always* deleted the character and created a new character and started the run all over. For months.

The VOD of when he beat the world record (beating the game without taking any hit), he had just got a halberd and somehow got hit by lightning on the ladder up to RTSR in the Valley of Drakes, and the next character he created is the character he used to beat the record.

It is not surprising really. We have seen streams/VODs of people beating the Soul series using the bong-gos from the Donkey Kong game.

That feat is really impressive, i really wonder how many moths did he spent for it.
