Well it is some kind of Art: 3D-Printing

Well just as i said some time ago on the discord Art channel i am tinkering with 3D-printing.

So i thought i open up a thread for people to exchange their interest or Pictures of printed things.

I too will begin with somes pictures of my printer and of course pictures of a few printed things.

My models are a mix of self styled objects with Fusion 360 and models made by others but released to the public on sites like thingiverse or mymindfactory.

those are the only decent one i have right now. but tomorrow when the sun is back around i will take some more and post them here.

EDIT: for some explanation. those two are a hook for my kitchen to hang my towels as my cupboard doors seem to be irritatingly non-standart thick and the other one is a small test run of a selfmade model of the danish blavand lighthouse as a christmas present for my parents.

The second picture is a shot of the lower part of my delta printer which is printing a disc to build a search loop for a homemade metal detector, a colleague of mine was building at the time.

That is really cool! I would love to see more! 3D Printing is such a crazy idea.

like i promised some new pictures of my printer/setup and some trinkets i printed and some testobjects to try out several different build variants with LED lighting.

Image my delta printer

Image some little trinkets (model pulled from thingiverse)

Image one of them with a LED-candle

Image 2 different LED test objects

Image Image green is the object printed solid and blue is the same object but only the 2 layers on the bottom and top are solid the core is only filled 20% with the plastic.

Image and at least some of my first object even one stopped midprinting to show the inner makeup. that little cog is made with a material combined with 40% copper which can be sanded to a nice copper shine.

yeah it is nice.

to be able to make yourself custom plastic parts, models in one piece or multiple parts which you can paint.

some of the mindblowing things i saw from the 3d-printing community are functioning bicycles (completely 3d-printed frame) or an arm and hand prothesis where the 3d-printed shell houses servos to mimic muscle movements.

but for the most time it is my hobby because i like to tinker with computer, microcontroller and RC Cars/drones.

so it is nice tohave the possibility to make one out of scratch (no time yet but the summer vacation is long) or just spare parts (Kyosho TF-05 is a nice RC car, sadly it is discontinued for ages now).

Does anyone in this forum have Cohh's channel logo either as a 2d DWG drawing or as a 3d Object?

Might be funny to print it but i dont think i am artisitic enough to recreate it by hand.

as a last method i could try to trace it from a normal high-res pciture.
