So excited to see Cohh playing some modded minecraft. Yes plain ol MC blows but modded minecraft is one of the best games i have ever played. People complain about the blocky look but once someone makes a game that has the play-ability of minecraft and the looks of say witcher 3 then i'm sure people will just ship. I do not see that happening any time soon. There is a reason the original creator of minecraft made over $2 billion selling to microsoft. Again great to see you playing minecraft cohh and i am really glad you are having fun.. the old vids of you playing with Bacon Donut i could not watch.. i could tell you were there for whatever charity you were supporting but not having fun.. Good vibes and cheers

Cohh is playing infinity evolved.. you can either find it on the FTB launcher or Curse launcher.. you can google either. There are alot of good modpacks out there.. i would advise using youtube to learn how to play modded MC.. some of my fav youtubers for MC are Simon and lewis from the yogscast..gaming on caffeen and so many more. let me know if there is anything i can do to help you.. it is alot of fun once you learn how to use mods. I play all of the time while i watch cohh.. if you want to play infinity evolved with me i know a prospercraft server we can play on... that goes for all non trolls.

Was he using a texture pack not included in FTB Infinity Evolved? My Zombies and weapons still look like old school MC and his looked more like old PC first person RPGish, if that makes sense.

Oh what I would give to be able to pop on for an hour or two and give Cohh some huge pointers lol! I'm a bit of a minecraft addict here, and I admit, modded is definitely the way to go. And in case Cohh happens to read this (or one of the peeps playing with him that wants the pointers lol) I figured I'd just leave this here! I definitely discourage building in a Magical Forest biome like they've done here, simply because dealing with wisps early on is just a pain. Wisps are the balls of light that were shocking you earlier Cohh, lol. They do come in handy for Thaumcraft though, but that's not an easy mod to learn for newbies. I highly recommend reading up on some of the more essential mods via their wiki, like Tinker's Construct, Ender IO, Thermal Expansion, Applied Energistics (though you may still need help with that one, as it tends to get confusing at times). I also recommend getting into Pam's Harvest Craft for your food needs. I seen some fruit trees and berry bushes around you, which can easily be turned into juice or smoothies to conquer your food needs. Immersive Engineering is another one I highly recommend reading up on as well, since you mentioned a watermill. It's a nice looking mod, and can be quite fun, but also a bit challenging to learn if you aren't prepared to do a little research. Big Reactors is great way to go for power, though you will need a ton of coal, and yellorium which you can find in the world.

For those of you new to modded minecraft, I tend to recommend packs that have a quest book mod with them, such as Sky Factory 2.5, Agrarian Skies (not 2, the first one is easier to start out with), and Mage Quest (for those that think magic mods are the way to go).

FTB Infinity Evolved is a great kitchen sink modpack, because it has such a huge variety of mods. The downside is that it tends to have memory leaks after a longer play session, and can really lag up older and low end pc's. If you are running on an older, or low end pc, I highly recommend Sky Factory to start with. It's a sky block styled modpack created by Bacon_Donut ( a twitch streamer who I believe is also a member of the Cohhilition stream group, as well as a founding member of N3rdfusion) You basically get to create your world from a tree.

There are many launchers out there as well that offer these modpacks, there's FTB, Curse, ATLauncher, Void Launcher, Technic, etc.... the list goes on and on. I tend to use Curse primarily, though the ATLauncher has some good packs on it, and packs like Crazy Craft (popular with many youtubers) is on the Void Launcher. The launchers are free to download provided you own minecraft for the pc.

Finally, texture packs. These change the look of the game, but depending on your system, you may or may not be able to use them. Shaders are another way to go, but be warned, shaders really eat up resources, so you definitely want a decent rig if you're planning on trying them out. Though they do bring the game more of a realistic look to be sure. Anyway, some of the more popular texture packs include: Chroma Hills, Sphax, Soartex, Jehkoba's Fantasy Pack, Ovo's Rustic Pack, John Smith Legacy, and Invictus. I tend to use either Chroma Hills or Ovo's myself, as I love the way that many of the blocks look.

Also, while I watch many, many youtubers that do minecraft vids (told you, I'm a bit of an addict lol) I have a few I recommend. Bacon_Donut streams on twitch later in the evenings and has a youtube channel as well that gives you an idea of how to play Sky Factory. The Yogscast is also another group I like to watch, though mainly for the comedy. When I want to learn how to use a mod, I generally look up Direwolf20's videos. He's really good at explaining things, how they work, and then finding ways to automate them so you can basically just let them do their own thing while you go do something else.

Now with my mini novel done (for now lol) I must say it's a joy to watch Cohh work his way through the mods and learn things. For anyone that wants or needs help though, feel free to shoot me a message here. I'll get back to you as soon as I can, and am more than happy to help with anything I can! ^__^

yeah simon and lewis do not really do much as far as teaching you how to play minecraft. i love them for the funny stuff they do/say.

Direwolf is good at explaining things but he talks down to his audience too much for me.

But to sum it up..almost anything you need to know can be found on youtube!

Oh, one last tip for anyone starting out with any modpack that uses Tinker's Construct. One of the easiest and best early game materials to use for a pickaxe head is Certus Quartz. It's easy to mine up, and is quite common in most packs compared to what it used to be. You can mine up to redstone levels with it, though it's durability is a bit lacking, so be sure to carry some extra quartz with you and a tool station to repair it until you can get a smeltry going and upgrade it with a metal head. Certus Quartz has a Redstone mining level, meaning you can mine pretty much everything in the overworld with it except obsidian. Check around for villages too, because they tend to have tinker's houses in them, and you can usually find the tables, patterns, and even parts that you can use to make some pretty strong starting gear.
