For everyone new to Elite and other space games that wants so spice up their immersion:
How about you try a HOTAS, short for "Hands on Throttle and Stick", and get a complete new gaming experience. There are many options out there but here are some Suggestions:

-First and cheapest variant is the Thrustmaster X (about 45€), great for beginner and people that dont want to pay too much.
-Second option is the Logitech G Saitek x52 (Cohh is using this, about 170€), it offers much more Buttons than the first option.
-Last one is the Thrustmaster Warthog (about 300€), it is for the more enthusiastic gamers out there. It offers high quality with lots of buttons and a pretty heavy feel to it.

Saitek (now owned by Logitech) X-55 or X-56. I have the x-55 personally.

For all of you thinking about getting a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X: small movements aren't very smooth out of the box and you can feel the stick and throttle sort of "catch" when you're trying to make small adjustments. A little bit of silicone grease is a godsend and makes everything soooo much smoother. Just take the dust cover off and grease up the points of friction, a little bit goes a long way (seriously, just a little, don't go crazy).

I just ordered the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS Hotas, which seems to be the preferred setup (especially for E :D ). One of it's key features is an analog stick placed at the index finger position on the throttle, which is, allegedly, perfect for precise application of vertical and analog thrust.

Currently using the X52 Pro for Elite Dangerous, great HOTAS system, I recommend users look up a few tutorials on setup specifically with Elite as the bindings for the X52 can be messed up depending on version of the HOTAS profile software you use.

Here is a decent tutorial from the Frontier forums: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=26644
