Hey, gang!

Cohh is looking into trying Path of Exile; he hasn't played it before, so he's looking for a good build to try. He's looking for a strong ranged-type character without pets, etc..

If you think you have a good build suggestion, post it here and he'll have a look at it. It could even help other community members. ^_^

It's supposedly very strong.

Firestorm. I usually play witch (I like magically going Pew Pew) and well, there's a nice in-depth guide for a firestorm build.
The guide describes it as "cheap, easy to play, easy to gear, yet still strong enough to bring you into the higher tiers of maps(end game)."

I love the Ranger Tornado Shot build from first post( https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1041989 ), I strongly recommend it for an archer type build, it's very simple, beginner friendly and work with pretty much any gear, and only gets better when you find better gear ^^

Another one i love a lot is Shadow Essence Drain + Contagion (2 chaos damage spells, dealing damage over time) : https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1625254

The gameplay is very simple one skill do big damage and the second one does lower damage but spread both debuffs when a target die with the second debuff on it, and works even without optimal gear. There is other utility skills to go with it but that's the base of it.

There is plenty other range build either magic or more archer type, i'll eventually edit to add more when i have time

Gotta agree with the first post. TS Ranger seems like pretty much the easiest build to start with since it's not really dependent on gear like a lot of others I've seen and it's what I'm going for myself right now since I just started playing again.

Both of these were created in the 3.0 beta, but are still viable on release.

Note to Cohh (and others), if you look up a build and it has a "Path of Building Pastebin" link, that's for this program:

It lets you plan out POE builds and see the various stat distributions that come with them. The Pastebin links basically just copy/paste the skill tree for the build your looking at into the program. It's also handy if you just wanna play with a build idea and get a general gist of how it might work stat-wise before committing to testing it in-game.

Not a build but i would highly recommend using neversink's loot filter(Regular version)
It plays audio ques when valuable and potentially valuable items drop amd makes them easier to spot
