Hi All! Quick question - I was wondering if anyone could help with a background noise problem I’ve been having. It sounds like low white noise and was wondering if there was a program that could filter it out.

I use an AT2020+ usb and voicemeeter to manage audio inputs/outputs.

Let me know if you need any additional info - I am still pretty new at this.

Hey, there,
For clarification, how are you connecting to your computer? Is there a USB or Midi interface between the mic and the PC? Without knowing anything else, here are a few things to troubleshoot. First, make sure your connections are solid. A loose connection could cause all sorts of havoc. Make sure your audio cables are as far away from power sources as possible. Using a balanced XLR cable will help keep some noise out, but separation is best. Also, the fewer connections, the better. Noise can leak into any physical connection, and minimizing the number of adapters is key. Also, you could be just dealing with room or air conditioning noise, in which case I believe Voicemeeter has a noise gate built into the software. Otherwise, you could consider getting a hardware noise gate.

This should get you started.

Thanks for the tips awfulpizza and sorry for the late reply (was at a wedding the past couple days). I was connecting directly through USB that was close to the PSU. I shift it to a top port and the noise was indeed reduced! Thanks again!
