Gone Home Sells 50,000 Copies In Less Than a Month

Sales of Gone Home, the first-person exploration game released to much acclaim last month, have exceeded 50,000 units, developer The Fullbright Company has announced.
That figure encompasses sales of the game through Steam and Fullbright's website. Having been released on August 15, the 50,000-copies mark was reached in just under a month's time.
The number may be a far cry from the millions of copies sold by major, AAA games, but for such an unconventional game -- and one made by a studio comprised of just four people -- it's actually quite solid. That was made clear by co-founder Steve Gaynor who, on the developer's website, stated, "We're now almost a month out since launching on August 15, and we hope people will find it encouraging to know that, along with the positive critical response we are continually grateful for and humbled by, we are also doing alright as far as sales numbers go!"
