Why Hearthstone Won’t Add Card Trading

Blizzard is still planning plenty of new improvements for its increasingly popular card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. At BlizzCon, IGN spoke with production director Jason Chayes about what’s next for the game, including new single-player Adventures and expansions.

“An adventure is essentially a single-player, PvE experience,” Chayes told IGN. “I’ll fight against some bosses, and as a reward for taking down those bosses I’ll get additional cards. It’ll be in the 20 to 30 range of cards I can earn by participating in these Adventures. We’re going to have those a little more frequently than expansions, as another way to continue to expand the card set.”

“We do want to have other ways to continue to keep the card set fresh,” he continued. “You’ll be able to participate in Adventures as somebody who wants to play the game for free, or somebody who wants to buy stuff. It’s important to us that we can maintain that, where no matter how you want to play Hearthstone, you can play these Adventures. And then beyond that, we’ll have more information a little bit later.”
