Microsoft's file-hosting service SkyDrive will be available on Xbox One at launch next week, the company announced today on its website. A SkyDrive app is currently available on Xbox 360.

The SkyDrive app for Xbox One makes use of the console's unique features, including the ability to open photo albums from channels in the OneGuide, play music alongside a slideshow via Xbox Music, and control of the entire app with gestures and voice via Kinect.

"This app is unlike any other SkyDrive experience we have shipped," SkyDrive program manager Dan Somrack said. "Our goal was to bring you a simple, fun experience, so we focused our energy on photos and videos, which look and sound great on your TV."

SkyDrive for Xbox One will automatically add items from a user's Pictures folder. For those who own a Windows Phone, every photo taken on the device will be uploaded to SkyDrive for viewing through the Xbox One's app.
