I will be formatting and uploading data on mining here in the next
2 days ... whenever... once I
hit 20K mining don't burn myself out. I hope you'll find this information useful.

For my 30k-40k mining data I took down Iron drop, Stone drop, if it procced a fortuna, and if it procced a pure ore but for 40k-50k I've been lazy and just tallying iron veins and if it procced a fortuna or pure ore. Average iron and stone looks the exact same across all proficiency's. I assume you've been tracking fortuna drops as well, would be interesting to see if proficiency changes anything there in regards to the chance of the gems and rarer ores dropping more often.

Indeed I have.
I'll go on another mining run shortly. I got burnt out from processing data for nearly a week straight. Yeouch.

Left two pages open for when I go back and mine more iron veins to see what changes, but so far haven't touched an iron vein since hitting 50k

Guess what? If you want to mine stone Shining Veins have a higher yield! From my analysis comment in my spreadsheet (formatting not completed yet):
Bottom line: Shining Veins have higher Raw Stone production. At every level of proficiency measured the increase in Raw Stone production is greater than the use in LP to generate that stone.
Although the data set is very limited Shining Veins will yield:
2.575x more stone/strike but at a cost of 1.94x more LP less than 10K.
<20K: 2.863x, 2.01x more LP.
<30K: 2.998x, 1.67x more LP.
<40K (modeled): 2.998x, 2x more LP.
<10K, let's assume iron yields 5 stones at 5 LP every strike. These are NOT real values!
You would spend 10 LP to hit a shining vein but you would get 12 or 13 stones, depending on how the game rounds, versus only getting 10 if this were an Iron Vein. This is to show you that despite spending more LP/stone, the yield/LP spent is higher.
Bear in mind, though - you have to spend gold to buy the shining vein and it's doubtful over the life of the vein you'll make your money back purely on raw stone. Take into consideration overall iron ore yield along with rare percentages.
