Hello everyone, In honor of Cohh playing a Fallout New Vegas with a few mods, the best thing about the PC version of the game is that you can load a lot of amazing mods, some just fix bugs which make the game run smoother, to adding more content to extend your gameplay experience (And there is plenty to begin with) But, with most Bethesda games running back to Morrowind Oblivion, and Fallout 3.

For years, there have been major mods for these games, from bugfixes to adding quests and so much more. So here is some of my own personal suggestions for some of the better quality mods, and some of my personal favorites.

First Things First – If you are going to mod, you should grab something so you can uninstall the mods if you dont use them or dont work, my personal opinion you need to get Nexus Mod Manager

Get it here - http://www.nexusmods.com/games/mods/modmanager/

The best thing is that it will work for any bethesda game except Oblivion, however im not covering how to mod that game cause it can be a pain sometimes.

So with that out of the way, lets get to some mods.

Most of these mods have different versions that may require the DLC, however with the Ultimate Edition at a decent price. So with that lets get started.

Any questions or comments with all the links I provide there is an extensive readme for most mods, when in doubt, RTFM is usually a good bet to understand the mods a bit

Mandatory Mods

NVSE-New Vegas Script Extender

If you use any mods this program is almost required to run most of the amazing mods, thia program is different than the other mods as the files need to be put into the Folder with your New Vegas EXE file. And the EXE that comes with NVSE is how you load into the game, the same is applied to any game like Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Skyrim and each one comes with there own version of the Script Extender

NVSE Page - http://nvse.silverlock.org/ (Always download the newest version)

4GB Fallout New Vegas

Now, most Bethesda games have a habit of using only 2GB worth of memory which is a shame this file if you have the memory to use it will boost the useable memory that Fallout New Vegas from 2GB to 4GB and if you use a lot of mods this file is almost mandatory. To load into New Vegas you use this file NOT the NVSE exe file.

The Mod Configuration Menu

This mod should be your first to download why is that?

Two reasons, the first is most mods have an extension to use this mod, and it does what it says, it lets you configure mods without exiting the game, most mods that have a section for this like Project Nevada.

Second, it saves you so many headaches of having to exit (Fix some ini files) and reload your game so go download this, you may thank yourself later for it.

Texture Mod

NMC's Texture Pack for New Vegas

Now lets start with some freshening up of the graphics for a game like New Vegas sometimes the basic vanilla is an option and this is only if you like your New Vegas experience needs a little more bling, Please note there are 3 different versions of the texture packs, the highest one being seperated into 3 files, that are 1GB A PIECE! And only for real high-end gaming computers for everyone else the 800mb small fine will modify the game and make it look nicer in the process, As always read the description the best thing about mods most of them have a extensive read-me or description so always read them before you go and see if this is for you

If you dont mind the vanilla graphics this can be passed

Gameplay Effects and Changes

Project Nevada

Cohh is using this mod, the people who did this mod also did FWE or Fallout Wastelanders Edtion for Fallout 3 which has so much content that if I listed them all this section would be 3 pages long, best idea is to check the page and read the description. It gives you a better rundown of all the modules this thing has and how many things you can modify with it.

New Vegas Enhanced Content

Ok, NOW we get into the deep stuff, this file is one of the better content packs that are out there, this gives you some bugfixes and so much content from many other mod authors, most of them are very well done including one of the best quest mods around New Vegas Bounties 1 and 2, and numerous other things. It's worth the download, HOWEVER please note this is an EXE file, which needs to be run outside Nexus Mod Manager. If you can deal with that then the link below is for you also check all the stuff in this download

Note this file is almost 2GB, but includes so much content

Quests and New Areas

A World Of Pain

OK, first thing this mod adds so many new locations to the map for Fallout New Vegas, secondly the enemies in these new areas can be very tough, however if you enjoy the challenge then pick this up, adding more areas to explore is never a bad thing, but some advice bring the big guns and plenty of ammo, you will need them

Afterschool Special

Wierd name isnt it? Lets say thats far from the truth, as the author of this awesome mod, made more use for the School in Goodsprings, and the end result after the over 2 hours of questing for the stuff to complete this, so worth it making this one of the best player homes out there. I have played this mod a few times, and each time you feel a bit of happiness when you get all the stuff done and look inside your new player home and see all the awesome things in it and just how it looks in general just download the mod, and see for yourself why this is one of my favorites.

The New Bison Steve Hotel and Lucky Casino

Have you ever wanted to fix up the old joint in Primm after clearing out all the convicts from it, well this is a mod for you, as this questline has you rebuilding the Hotel and Casino after you get Deputy Beagle out of there (...the wimp) and also when you get back to the Vicky and Vance Casino you will see someone new, Bison Steve himself who wants to rebuild the casino to it's former glory, can you help out as his new partner? Rebuild the casino? And earn Massive Caps in the process, download and try it out.

That's all I have for now maybe I will add some more later, but with what I have shown you here, you should have plenty to keep you busy out in the Mojave Wasteland.

Also feel free to add your own favorite mods to this list as well

Get out there and good hunting.

I'll most likely never use this guide myself, but it's very in-depth and explanatory. Good job! :D

I have also modded this game to the nines and would like to share some mods I really like and find it hard to play without.

ADAM - A Definitive Armor Mod
This mod adds many new armors to the game and it has plugins that rebalance it so it works well with project nevada.

Downloadable here - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43192/?

Ojo Bueno/Poco Bueno
A texture pack that gives the game a slightly more rustic and nice look. Poco Bueno is the alternate texture pack for weaker machines.

Ojo Bueno Download - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39755/?
Poco Bueno Download - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42028/?

Fallout New Vegas Redesigned 2
This mod will redesign NPCs in Fallout New Vegas to fix skin issues, face proportions, personality mismatches, etc. in an attempt to make each character fit better with the the lore of Fallout New Vegas.

Downloadable Here - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39218/?

Dynavision 3
DYNAVISION 3 provides a dynamic depth-of-field and auto-focus effect similar to a camera. In other words, when you're close to something and looking right at it, the subject stays in focus while the background blurs. This mod merges the Imaginator, Cinematech, and Director's Chair mods.

Downloadable Here - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51577/?

oHUD - OneHUD
One HUD (oHUD) is the final coming together of Immersive HUD, Extra HUD, and Adjustable HUD. This HUD mod allows you to make all the HUD elements on screen fade out until they are needed. You can bind a key to, say, the compass to make it appear for 5 seconds and then fade out, and you can set your health and AP bars appear only when entering combat.

Downloadable Here - http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/44757/?

MTUI
This mod gives essential UI adjustments. It adds smaller fonts, improved conversation menus, etc. This mod will not interfere with oHUD.

I use DarNified UI which requires some ini modification but worth it

http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/113539 ... ied-ui-nv/

Heard MTUI works great as well
