Razer Product Review

Did a search through the forums for some sort of reviews, but I didn't see anything so I figure I might start one.

Just a place for people to give their thoughts on the Razer products they currently use. Their likes and dis-likes.

Razer Sabertooth:

Just got this today, played a few hours with it. My first Razer product, and first Xbox controller.
The weight is good, not heavy at all. They way it feels "natural" to hold, makes it seem like the controller is small. (index finger on the top shoulder button, middle finger on the shoulder button below that.) If I hold it where my index is on the bottom shoulder button it feels much more comfortable, but it isn't what feels natural to me. (again first Xbox controller, used Playstation for many many years)

The Multi-Function buttons feel natural in their placement. Easy to access. Haven't looked at assigning them any functions yet, but that may come. I'm still getting used to the controller.

The stick layout is different. It is mainly just a visual oddity. (Again playstation user) But their movement is smooth, clicking gives a good audible and tactile feel when pressing them down. The D-pad provides the same good audible and tactile feedback when pressed.

The shoulder buttons and Multi-Function buttons give the same click and resistance that just lets you know you have pushed a button. The main trigger buttons, what I referred to as the bottom shoulder button, don't give that feel. They are softer, but you can still tell you have actually used them. Which brings me to the X, Y, A, B buttons. I don't like them, yes they are in easy reach of your thumb. But there is no feedback from the controller whatsoever that lets you know you have actually pushed them. So I find myself pushing them multiple times because it just doesn't feel like they have done anything.

I won't return the controller, I wanted the Razer product. But in hindsight, and what I would tell others. If you have never used an XBox controller before, go to an electronic store and get your hands on one. See how it feels, and if you are pleased with the layout and feedback from the controller.
