Comp random restarting, any suggestions

Hi you brilliant folks your assistance would be much appreciated.

Ok couple of weeks ago my comp started random restarting by itself. CPU fan was a little noisy so thats been replaced in case it was a heating issue but that did nothing. temps on CPU and GPU are ok and can restart at any point no matter what im dong, also done checks for malicious software nothing of note came up.
Bios updates have been done on Mobo and Graphics all up to date etc.

thought it may have been a HDD failure too as a similar issue ive had before but checked them all over and no errors showing for them.

So im stuck a little, Its down to Mobo, Memory or PSU, both the PSU and Mobo are under a year old the memorys a lot older.

when the comp restarts there is No BSOD to let me know wht the error is and i have turned off the option in windows settings for restarting so i could see the Bsod, Windows event viewer is not really throwing up anything either.

Specs
AMD FX - 4130 CPU
Nvidia GTX760
8GB of generic ram
Crucial 128gb SSD (operating system)
2x 500 GB HDD's
Win 7 OS

comp has been running fine for the past year bar the previous GTX760 having to being sent back faulty and the shop replacing it.

Any help of from you brilliant people would be greatful.

I would check your power supply, they often are underrated while being the most important part of your system. MB/Video/Memory is much more likely to lock up or bsod.

Thats what im leaning towards more now atm, As daft as it sounds whilst im not doing a lot just chillin watching cohh seems pretty stable, but as soon as i get into a game for a little while or put more strain on the system it goes. Looks like ill have to try gameon my laptop until next weekend until i can get a new PSU, might get some New memory while im at it too need some better in there.

Thanks for your help Lonkley

It`s probably the CPU overheating if you have somekind of overclocking done, reset all setting in your bios.
Also post your Motherboard, it could be also the problem like if you have Gigabyte fx990/fxa900 ud3 you moight run into trobles as known overheating issus

Edit:
Also you might want to try to run Prime95 to see if it is your cpu overheating if your pc restars after runing this after few minuts you can be quite sure its your cpu overheating when under stress

I've also seen reboots on memory timing being off. Try running memtest overnight? not just one a few passes.

Also, unlikely since it worked before, but I have seen boards shorting the reset on the case before. Well, saw it once.

If you're unsure on your idle/working temperatures this might help http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html It's free and will report the min/max value as well as current operating temp and voltage of all your components.

The two things I would guess with reboots would be power supply/draw or overheat.

I've never had bad memory so I have no clue how that behaves but before you spend money on it, maybe the free temperature monitor is worth a go.

Hi thanks for all the replies guys, All temps are ok on Graphics and CPU, and im not running any Overclocks, My motherboard is a gigabyte 970A - 3DSP (updated to latest bios to see if it would help fix the issue). Im plan to try do a MEMtest at some point but gota find a USB stick i can use for it. I was going to buy some new memory yesterday but would you belive my local store which is quite good had no 1600 memory in at all over all price ranges.

think with your help i have proberbly narrowed it down to Mobo or memory, gonna strip the PC down later and see if there is any shorts happening at all too.

I know this is a had problem to diagnose as it could be so many thinks spent hours on google last night at work more than i should have.

Again thanks for you help so far ill post back again soon when i can get a a MEMtest done.

Well took my pc apart and checked everything over and all seemed ok, gave it a deep clean in the process too and noticed one of the Ram modules was rather dusty, so maybe the cause could have been overheating of the ram and causing the issue. Well since i have put it back together its been stable for 18hrs so hopefully the issue should be solved.

Would like to thank all of you who have helped with suggestions.
