I am looking for an nvidia based graphics card, that can handle 3 monitors at the same time.

I have been looking at GTX 970 ones, but haven't found any that could handle 3 monitors at the same time. And also didn't have a bunch of "this card is LOUD" reviews.. so... anyone in here got any suggestions?

I would think the 980 or 780ti's should be able to handle 3 monitors easily

and their not loud at all

two 970s should do the trick and if you want even more fps you can go 2x 980

Are you looking to GAME with 3 monitors or just game on your main with 2 side monitors for other stuff? Thats a pretty important question. Most any GFX card with 3 or more ports on it these days can run a triple monitor setup. At least well enough for a single monitor gaming setup.

I am looking for one that is mainly for gaming on one monitor, and other stuff on the two others, but also occasional gaming on all monitors. My current HD6950 does that pretty well.

980's is also above what I am willing to spend on a new graphics card. 970's here start at $440, and 980's at $760

The gigabyteone is good and there is anotherone called msi gtx 970 gaming which is also good. then there is the evga one and if you want the cheapest possible there should be gainward.

atleast on cdon the cheapest is the gigabyte one so thats what i would go with

I did look at the gainward too, but to use that with 3 monitors, I would have to buy two adapters, which would then bring the price up to the gigabyte anyways.

Do yourself a favor and avoid the R series cards. For the money you spend, an Nvidia product is gonna be better.

Not sure what you mean by R series.

I read the links fpsderp and i find it interesting but isnt it solvable by using a older driver + as i said i have two friends with 280x's and none of them have had that problem and if it would have been at a large scale i think the tech news sites would have reported it

If you're looking for cards with 3 monitor support, several of them require you to run the third monitor of HDMI.
I use the GTX 760. It runs three monitors with ease and only cost $230. With two DVI and two HDMI outputs you've got some room to use several different monitors.

That's something else you need to pay attention to. A lot of the new cards don't have VGA output any more. So, if your monitors are a bit older you could run into some trouble.

Dvi->VGA adapters are dirt cheap, I remember the days where they would include two of them in the GPU box. Hell, even displayport->hdmi or DVI adapters are only 7 bucks each on monoprice.

A 970 would be perfect for this, and a lot of the non-reference designs have a feature where the fans dont even spin until high temperatures so they are completely silent unless you are playing intense games. A R9 290 would get the job done as well, they are just a bit more dated than the newest and greatest nvidia stuff meaning more heat, more power (but they do go on sale a lot for cheap).

I think it would be very helpful to know what you have to work with as far as inputs (HDMI, VGA, DVI, Displayport) then you can look at what cards have them available or if you wanna just pick up some adapters (usually very cheap). Overall I hear mostly good things about ASUS, EVGA, and Gigabyte. Gainward is also pretty good from what I hear though no personal xperience with them (I'm in the US).Luckily all the 900 series cards have 4gb of vram which I believe is a big help with multi-monitor setups. I would avoid blower-style cards as they tend to be a bit louder.

A typical issue with modern gfxcards is that while they typically do have 2xDVI, HDMI and 2 miniDP outputs, the HDMI output is using the same internal circuits as one of the DVI outputs, so you can't connect 2xDVI and the HDMI at the same time, so you'd have to get an active miniDP->DVI or HDMI converter.

If I read it correct on the Gigabyte card (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... id=5209#ov) it can use both dvi, one hdmi, and one DP port at the same time.
