Hey everyone, I'm a first time builder and need help picking out parts for my new build!

My budget is: $1000
I live in: New York, US
Operating system: I will be going with windows 8.1
Monitor: I will need one but you do not need to include the price in the budget - 23" preferably with speakers built in if possible
Gaming resolution : Plan on using 1920X1080 and eventually moving up to dual monitors but only one monitor for now!
Peripherals?: Don't need any new peripherals
Will you do overclocking?: I have no clue about this, if anyone can shed some light on this also that would be awesome!
What are you planning to do with the pc?: I plan on doing only gaming with it

After spending the day browsing pcpartpicker.com this is what I've come up with http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3iaSw . Could use some feedback on how this build will run and if it's halfway decent! Thanks!

This is what I came up with instead : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3ic5q

I've removed the BluRay burner (would you really get to use that?) and shaved some by choosing cheaper mobo and so I managed to shoehorn a GTX770 in there!
Huge gfx upgrade!
Unfortunately the price ended @ $1050 :(
If you cannot go above this, I would go back to the 760 and end up with http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

Depending on your need to store large quantities of data (movies/tv/music) - you could drop the 1TB HDD and upgrade the SSD to 250GB instead - I had a 128GB SSD and it got "too stuffed" with games on it, so I defo recommend 250/256GB minimum for SSD's used for anything else than boot drives.
Remember, you can ALWAYS get an external HDD later!
