Hey Cohhilition,
My first post so take it easy on me. I have a background in electronics and have been operating an on site computer consulting business for 5 years. I specialize in small business technology but have been a gamer as long as i can remember. I feel this technology I am posting about is a bit unrecognized and has great potential.
v v v v v v v THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION v v v v v v v v
Intel Smart Response Technology (SSD Caching)
This technology allows you to utilize a smaller SSD (cutting costs) in tandem with a larger storage HDD.
Reasons why this is good?
You will be able to avoid transferring data around or controlling what drive has what information.
We all know we like to play games, we want these games to run fast.
Intel SRT gives SSD speeds while still allowing you to have 1.0TB+ HDD capacity

I have been utilizing this technology since i believe the first chipset it was released on (Z68) and it is fantastic.
The differences to a PURE SSD system are mainly found in boot time as the SRT is software based utilizing a RAID configuration in the BIOS so the boot times are that of a normal HDD. The SSD is strictly a "cache" drive and essentially puts your most used information in the cache and adjusts accordingly. I mainly play League of Legends (LOL) and my load times are the same as my friends who have SSDs or 2xSSDs in RAID and i still have a 2.0 TB drive with all my games on it all utilizing the same system.
This system is also utilized by the newer SSHD drives.
