Resident Evil Revelations 2: http://store.steampowered.com/app/287290/
All four Episodes are available.
More Survival Horror than most other recent Resident Evil Games.
Would fit if Cohh is playing Resident Evil HD.

Not sure if you'd be able to get it anymore but if you can look into Clock Tower, it is a great game

Doom 3 + Resurrection of evil NOT BFG EDITION, they give you a flash light on every gun and it kills the atmosphere http://store.steampowered.com/app/9050/

Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi might be a good addition to the list.

The Graphics are dated (Released Oct 21, 2003) but it has amazing sound design and several nearly unique gameplay elements for the time. It features a running clock, meaning you can run out of time to save your family members, anyone you do save can be brought back to the warded courtyard and can usually provide extra supplies. You can even rescue your Aunt's dog! It's story and game mechanics make the combat something you feel vulnerable engaging in.
For an FPS, the gunplay is interesting as well. Flintlock pistols and a five cylinder revolver take time to reload, and the only thing which can disrupt wraiths is the silver cross. Stakes can be used on any enemy except wraiths, but they're especially effective against vampires, who can be staked if the player is fast enough before they get out of their coffins.
I'll mention again that the ambient sound and music in the game are some of the best mood setting for a horror game I've ever played. No electronic or hard rock backing a gunfight, no sweeping orchestral to accompany your sword. Just really understated background music pierced occasionally by a violin shriek and distant screams, or dissonant laughter.

I would be totally up for Cohh replaying Until Dawn later in the month. Now that he knows some of the consequences and checked atleast some of the Butterfly Effects, I think there would still be value to replay it, because I think he would make different choices more than once, and considering how the ending went, he might want to absolve himself a bit.

Does anyone know which versions of Silent Hill 1 and 2 Cohh is going to play? He should be made aware of the fact that the HD collection is NOT the optimal way to play them (even the patches barely fixed any of the problems of the HD versions) and he should search for the PS1/PS2/Xbox versions for optimal experience.
EDIT: Also remembered one more horror game that I remember liking back in the day (though I haven't played it in a long time and am not sure how well it has aged):

If you're going to play Heavy Rain (which would be awesome!), there's also the DLC The Taxidermist for it which is more NOPE than the entire main game
