On Dropped Frames the guys went over whether raiding another channel is beneficial or may cause more harm than good.

Cohh suggested the idea of having a list of those willing to be raided by a larger streamer. My thought is while there is a streaming group that have all agreed to those terms, I wonder if we cannot get a list of people looking to grow and learn from such an experience.

Even if it is just between smaller streamers you can still gradually get better at handling the larger numbers and how chat reacts. Also may be good for your moderators.

Side note, I am suggesting but not saying I want to be apart of the list haha

Let me know your thoughts guys and gals and as always, catch you next time!

Edit: Adding the Dropped Frames video and time they start discussing raiding. Should really watch the whole thing for solid information and examples on streaming in general.

General :

On Twitch today there is a lot of things which can stop new streamers and discourage them to continue :

- The success of OLD streamers : it's difficult when you see your favorites streamers with +500 or +1000 viewers and when YOU are streaming : only 1 or 2...
- Viewers Bots or Followers Bots : a lot of people just buy some viewers bots or followers bots ot think they will grow up fastly but it's a big mistake and you only can get bad reputation. For my part, I was botted without my permission ( maybe by someone I banned from my channel ) I send mail to Twitch but the problem has never benn resolved...I don't know why but talking about "bots" is prohibited with streamers....
- There is some very nice new streamers who are working a lot on their channel to give somme good stream quality and not only : "I turn on my screen, my computer and it's ok : give me money ! " but they are flooded by a wave of other streamers who don't intend to make streaming as a work...

About me :
As a new streamer, I work 8 hours ON stream and 2-4 hours OFF stream EVERYDAY to improve graphics, intro, outro, animated interscreen, overlays, followers alerts, donators alerts etc...It's a very big work to propose that to the audience but when I see a new streamer who just created this channel 2 days ago and with +150 viewers on the stream and only 10 in chat, I know he's botting a lot ( specially when you go on some statistic website and you see +20.000 viewers in 24-48 hours.... )
I don't wanna use viewers bots or following bots, I wann grow LEGIT and I know it will take a looooooooong time but it's sure if sometimes I can be raided I'll be glad and it will be a little reward for all this work.

Good idea to create this topic Wade, I'm curious about the opinion of other people here and/or other new streamers.

;) ;) ;)

PS : don't think I'm begging...I just give my opininon about differecne between general streaming discussions/fellings and mines.
PS2 : sry for englis faults... ;) ;) ;)

This is an awesome idea! I would love to see the video you're referencing. I know for me as a very new streamer who generally just has himself and Nightbot in the channel, I'd like to say I would be prepared for a raid, but at the same time I've never had to entertain or interact with more than 2-4 people while playing.

The raiding discussion starts around 1:23:00 but really the bulk of the information for part one is a great watch. We seldom see how the bigger streamers got to where they are and how they handle things like sponsorship, raids, giveaways, etc.

As much as I would love to stream for a living, I do this as a hobby while I go for my degree. Work and school plus streaming and finding time to do video reviews/first impressions of games.

All we can do is have fun in the process and try to make our time worth something to someone else.

Thx for the link Wade ! I wasn't present for this show but I watched the replay and Cohh's idea is just : AWESOME !

A flag which appear on your channel or on your screen which mean "Rdy to be raided !". You can activate/desactiveate it if you're streaming or near to stop.

I've been raided a few times by bigger streamers. Sometimes it comes out of the blue and is a little startling. But, it always gives me that jolt of energy I need to converse with a large crowd. I come from a customer service background, and am used to being in front of an audience. I say bring it on!

As of now I have been streaming 7-8 hours a day mon-fri, I love it and every follower I get means a lot to me. It is definitely tough tough, especially going several days in a row without anyone in your channel.

If anyone feels like checking out my channel its @ twitch.tv/kona2na
