This is Rio, who joined our family on Halloween. No pictures of him and Ish, our older cat together yet, as they are still in a slightly difficult adjustment phase, so I post Ish in a separate pic. Same breed, if you really want to know

I sadly had to put my 7½ year old cat down today, i miss him so much already and words cannot describe the emotional pain one feels when having to put down a family member, he got a blood clot in his back legs, both of them, apparently heart conditions are common amongst cats and they can suddenly just drop down out of no where , because he was fine yesterday, fine this morning when he came to morning cuddle when me and the mrs woke up, and then suddenly it hit him and he came panicly to me in the bathroom.
Breaks my heart in two, but there was nothing i could do or the vet could do, his back legs / paw area was already cold by the time i got him to a vet since their not open on sundays so you gotta call this emergency bullshit number and then wait for a vet to get his ass to the clinic, i would have thought animal hospital were open 7 days a week always.
But yea cold paws / legs and the muscles were stiff on his back legs, this picture is an older one of course ,i don't wanna share a picture of my peaceful dead cat :'(
So remember to get a full checkup on your cats once a year people, all my cats are indoor, they are castrated, all get the proper food for sterilised/castrated cats , either royal cannin , hills or other approved food, but my vet said some cats are just born with a heart condition or develop one later throughout life, i blame my self constantly throughout the day, what could i have done better , could i have changed something, yes apparently i could ive now come to realise, get my cats checked once a year, get that early examination + vaccine done when your vet sends you those letters that its now time for X to come in, never done it because they were always fine and have never showed any sign of illness , i even give them vitamins for pets that you can get at the vet or in a pet store.
I'm so devastated.
