I just checked the launcher and from now (August 22) Until September 1st you can play Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn for free if you have a account from back when it launched. After Sept.1 you need to start a sub again, more can be found out about this event on this link.

I have restarted playing Final Fantasy XIV once again and they have added alot of content so jump back in Eorzea again, even if it is for only 10 days.

Thanks for the info puma We've still got a great Cohhmunity playing XIV, and we welcome you all back!! There have been 3 major content patches (all free) since the launch last year. It's amazing how much the game has evolved. SE has been working hard and smart. Older content has been eased, so it shouldn't be much trouble for anybody to catch right up to patch 2.3 standards. Please give XIV another try!
