Twitch.tv has introduced its latest video update, which has been in use on Twitch's mobile and console platforms since May. The update increases its traffic capacity and enforces the new minimum broadcast requirements in an effort to provide users with a better experience.
In a blog post, the Twitch team explained that the new video system focuses on improving video quality rather than decreasing latency. Videos will now "buffer more" in cases of network congestion, and latency — the time between when the broadcaster does something and the viewer sees it — has been increased by "multiple seconds."
