Valve head Gabe Newell has today addressed concerns that Valve collects users' browser histories through its Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) system, insisting that it's an untrue rumour.
After a Reddit thread yesterday suggested that VAC records the domains you have visited to send back to Valve HQ, Newell himself stepped forward to defend his company's practices.
Speaking in his own Reddit thread, Newell says that VAC checked for access to cheat developers' specific DRM servers, part of a process to flag an account for a ban - however, this particular VAC test is already no longer in use.
