OK, here are my helpful hints:
1) You have two resources for Damage and Defense; Magicka and Stamina. To maximize combat effectiveness, make sure you are investing in Abilities which use both. Generally, Class abilities and Staves use Magicka and Weapons use Stamina.
2) Class Passive skills are many times useful even if you don't use a an Active Ability in that tree path. For this reason, try and invest in at least one Ability in each of the three tree paths and keep it hotbar'd whiole lower level. This will allow you to easily level up each of the three Paths.
3) Learn how to open chests and seek them out! They contain useful upgrade items which you can either equip or sell! Also, for those who played Beta, it seems the Chest spawn rate has been increased so finding them appears to be easier even in crowded ares.

Since you have to invest points into hp/magic/stam it seems to be a better option to lean toward either magic or stamina attacks and buff that resource more than the other. It is a good idea, however, to pick up some of the utility type powers from the remaining resource. Stuns/knockdowns/movement/ect since u wont need it to scale as much.
example. buff stam more than magic and pick up damaging weapon attacks since they will scale off stam. use class abilities to fill utility roles that wont need to scale as much since magic attacks are scaled off magica. (buffs, movement, cc, heals)

Absolutely! I should have made this distinction between "Focus" of Stamina or Magicka versus having both available for DPS. As an example, my Nightblade has 4 Skills which require Magicka and 1 Skill requiring Stamina. This has my upgrades focused on Magicka and Health and little on Staming as well as me wearing Light Armor versus Medium or Heavy.tay098 wrote:Since you have to invest points into hp/magic/stam it seems to be a better option to lean toward either magic or stamina attacks and buff that resource more than the other. However, the point remains true which, in the beginning, having the capability to use both Magicka and Stamina Skills will maximize your damage.

I would also like to suggest joining the Mages and Fighters guild ASAP and putting one skill point each in Persuade and Intimidate Makes some quests take a lot less time.
Another thing i do not hear many people speaking about too regularly is Book cases, Read every single book case, chest, pile you may come across. There is a chance that you will get a free level on one of your traits. So far i have progressed my enchanting to level 7 and i have not done enchanting..........
