Well since there was a little discussion on the chat about good RPG's I figured I would post some here for both the PC and some of the modern consoles and some classics on some of the other older consoles.
Please note this is my personal opinion.
PS3
Disgaea 3,4,D2 - As for many the Disgaea series is known from back on the PS2, and if you can pick up the first two (There on the PSN store for the PS3 and for PSP) there a good addition if you are into SRPG, the combat system is grid combat, which does turn people off cause of that, however if you look deeper this series has alot of depth and insane leveling, weapons, and more.
Tales series - (Tales of Xilia, Tales of Graces f, and Tales of Symphonia Collection) I must admit the tales series has grown on me with all the games on the PS1 going for almost $100 or more, This series is a basic RPG with you controlling the combat. The first game in this series I played is Tales of Symphonia on the gamecube, and the remake just came out on the PS3 which includes the game in HD and it's sequel Dawn of the New World, which was released on the Wii. Xillia was a surprise for me on the PS3 when it came out, it was the first one I actually played all the way through and enjoyed it, and with Xillia 2 coming to the states this year the Tales series in my opinion is one of those series that has come back in a big way and is worth the purchase to try the games out.
Kingdom Hearts (Kingdom hearts 1.5 reMix and Kingdom Hearts 2 (HD remix coming out this year?)
Yeah it's Disney, and Square Enix making a RPG, however dont let the cartoon look fool you this is a very deep RPG, and if you can look past the Disney look to em you will enjoy this series and with Kingdom Hearts 3 out sometime next year for the PS4, it would be a good time to dive into this series before the next installment comes out on PS4.
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch - One of the most underrated RPG's out there and since I am a anime nut and this game was animated by Studio Ghibli who has made masterpiece quality anime for years, this series does have alot of cutscenes, however the game has many quirks that make it an enjoyable experience. and it's around $20 so it's good value.
There a select few for you guys to get your RPG on with, there all worth it
Some great RPG's for PS3

There are some fun community based rpgs out there as well....
One that I always recommend is, "White Knight Chronicles" both 1 and 2 (Tho if you buy two you automatically get one included....
It includes: customizable characters, party quest, and build-able personal towns... and best part GIANT armored mechs(knights)
I think it would be fun to pl;ay with the cohhmunity.
Any of the, "souls" series games as well.
Star Ocean: The last Hope
Chrono Cross
The Persona series(FES 2 is REALLY good)

I have played the first one, however... I was not too hot on that game espically since it took me only 21 hours to beat it
Still have the save but still for $20 for both games thats still decent for 2 games
As for Persona I always have a soft spot for Persona 4 which I think is on PSN store as a PS2 Classic and also a remake is also on the Vita with some more content

I liked Kingdom of Amalur. The Dead Keel DLC was a blast too. Combat was fun, but could be really easy if you wanted it to be. Crafting in that game made you OP and if you wanted an easy out against the bosses all you had to do was Fate Shift. However, some of the boss fights were a blast and very challenging when you didn't take the easy road. Sadly enough there was 2 that I couldn't beat without doing that.
