If GameCube games are a possibility, Eternal Darkness would definitely get some nopes. There's a follow up that was green lit on steam a while ago but I don't know the status of that one. Last I read it was on hiatus unfortunately.

Cohh should check out and play Five Nights at Freddy's this Nopetober :D fantastic and terrifying game.

There's a game I found out on the interwebz, it was part of a free indie game bundle called "I'm Scared". They say it's a cross between Minecraft and Slenderman... It doesn't look that bad from what I saw of the youtube clip they had on the page.

what about "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter"? its more of an atmospheric detective puzzle adventure than a horror game, but it looks fun :) .
