Hey Guys,
I tried streaming some games but obs kept saying encoding too slow and my friend advised me buying a ssd to increase the encoding speed. I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33 GHz is it going to help? I dont have money for a new computer and dont know how to OC.

i'm srry to break it dude but that processor is way to slow to stream with cpu encoding and i have no idea what your friend is talking about ssd's dont make the encodingspeed faster, the only reason for a ssd would be if you recorded at such a bitrate that a normal mechanical drive couldnt write the data fast enough but that's impossible in standard streaming.

Wait, wait. Don't go ballistics yet. A simple google search is the proof that many people use the same cpu as you and they stream ..
Whats your os, ram, graphic etc. In the end its the combined hardware that matters. Ofc there is specific hardware options and ways to go but i would need more than you cpu to get you a good answer.

i would like to see source on that, i found one who streamed with that cpu but he ran the game in 720p and "over 30 fps" and in the following post there was a dude who played wow with 80 fps but when he streamed it dropped to 20fps

Sorry, that CPU isn't too powerful.

If thats your CPU, then you have to ask yourself, what socket is that CPU? Getting a new CPU, would likely require to get a new motherboard, and then the question is again, if these parts are already this old, how about the rest of your system. What about your graphic card, your ram, and drives?
Is it possible to stream with the CPU? With a bit of fiddling around probably it is, but then you have to ask yourself, what games do you want to play and with what settings do you want to stream. The CPU cannot even run newer games, let alone stream them. Obviously if you want to stream Minesweeper, your ressource requirements for the game will be next to nothing, leaving more available for the actual stream, but then I don't know of many people who want to stream minesweeper.
In general if you want to stream, make sure you can play the games without any issue and have a lot of ressources free that can be used for the actual streaming, in your case for any somewhat new game, you will likely need a completely new system, unless your parts vary drastically in age and quality.
