Sound Blaster card vs onboard audio?

I was wondering if I should remove my sound blaster audigy z sound card. It supports 5.1 surround sound and has that nifty little knob for volume. People have told me that my Realtek on-board 7.1 should actually be better and also work better with my Yeti Pro and Roland VT3. I have had people tell me that I am too quiet in streams when I have all volumes at full input. Has anyone ever had any problems like this or anyone have any general advice?
