Since Cohh mentioned he'll play Vampire the Masquerade, he might also be interested in Bloodlust Shadowhunter. Has a Horror tag as well and it looks like a cross between Vampire and Diablo. I second the motion for Parasite EVE 1 and 2. Both of those games have a freaky story to them but they also play like a rpg with stats and so on.

Both have a similiar shooting mechanic as in Resident Evil but use RPG stats and lvling of skills.

I would like to second Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi! It is old now and very overlooked so I don't expect it to get many votes, but take a look at it if you want a fast paced horror game in which you can actually fight back. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines could be a great option as well, though it may be considered more comedy than horror.
