Sooo I decided to install Pixelmon for my son but it has been a royal pain in the arse to get running. The install part was fine but now the game laaaaags like crazy (completely unplayable).. Im trying to get this ready to go for my son for Christmas but am struggling.. I think the issue is I can't allocate enough memory to the game (but I'm not sure).. I have been posting on the Pixelmon wiki but seem to have hit a roadblock... If anyone is so inclined here is the link to the thread http://www.pixelmonmod.com/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=20511
I have a 64 bit system but a 32 bit java.. 32 bit java limits the RAM you can allocate to the game... Can't seem to download the 64 bit java because I only have 32 bit browsers on Windows 8.1.. I feel like I am in a tech loop of death.. I am fairly uneducated when it comes to computer tech but I built a fairly robust system (i5-4670 processor, 16GB RAM, GeForce GTX 780)... Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work for my son on Christmas morning???

At the bottom of the windows section in the downloads is the 64bit version of java as long as you are running a 64bit version of windows it doesn't matter about the 32bit browsers. You can run both versions of java without any conflict. Just download and install. As for allocating extra ram, I'm not to sure about the pixelmon client but normally there is a line of code you put in. You might have to do a bit of googling on that.
